A Brief History     “Silver Lake Cookie Company is recognized throughout the baking industry as the “Quality Leader” since 1965. A family business whose reputation is based on the fundamental concept of delivering the finest quality product possible, and providing the highest level of service to the customer.

Silver Lake got its start in Baldwin, Long Island, in a 3,500 square foot building behind a park called Silver Lake Park. As you guessed, that is where the name Silver Lake came from. In the early 70’s more space was needed and the company relocated to larger quarters in North Baldwin. A retail store was established at this location called “Mr. Cookie.” It wasn’t long before continued growth made another move necessary.

In 1978 a 35,000 square foot building on Sunrise Highway in Amityville became the next location. Over the next few years another 4,000 square feet were added to the building. For more space two buildings around the corner were rented. But by 1986 the company again outgrew its facilities. Silver Lake’s current 140,000 square foot “state of the art” bakery confirms our industry-leading position and dedication to our customers and employees. The bakery is located on the original site of the first Islip airport, which was also used for the famous Islip Motor Speedway.

Why do bakers choose Silver Lake Cookies? Because in these changing times it is more economical for the baker to take advantage of Silver Lake’s extensive assortment of cookies, and he can sell them proudly along with his own fine products. In cookie sales, variety is the key to volume; and the larger the display, the more impulse sales you will generate. Even in the most discriminating shops where the baker hand cuts and dips his cookies, he will highlight his line with an assortment of Silver Lake Cookies, such as our hand pinched pockets, toasted sliced almond and raspberry tarts, and of course our rainbow layers.

Silver Lake can satisfy almost every need, from our line of bakery style European, Italian and Sugar Free cookies to Novelty cookies and Petit Fours.

Silver Lake’s modern 140,000 square foot bakery facility features high technology systems along with hand decorating and packing to ensure consisitent quality control and reliable customer service throughout the year Let us bake for you.
